How Much Does New Guttering Cost?
New guttering can feel like an expensive investment for your home, but the only way to find out the cost for sure is to get a quote.
As a rule of thumb, you should expect upwards of £40 per metre of guttering for replacement work. However, this does vary significantly based on:
- Condition of old guttering
- Material of guttering required for new installation
- Where in the UK you are
- Complexity of installation (e.g. height of house)
- Access to roofline

Condition Of Old Guttering
If your current guttering is easy to remove, then it will have a minimal impact on the cost to replace. It's not a common problem, but sometimes it's very difficult to remove - for example if it's been fitted in a non-standard way.

Materials Chosen For New Guttering
uPVC is by far the most common choice we arrange for customers, but there are plenty of alternatives - wood and metal guttering are the two most common.
Fortunately for the majority, uPVC materials are almost always the cheapest option.

If you're in the south of the UK, prices tend to be higher than in the north.

Complexity Of Installation
If you live in a four storey property, or there's some other safety issue (e.g. very close to power lines or other hazards), it sometimes means extra work is needed or more scaffolding to access difficult to access areas.

Access To Roofline
If you've got sections of guttering that would need to be reached from a neighbouring property, this may cause additional costs in some circumstances.
If this is likely to affect you, you'll probably already be aware of it simply by looking and wondering how anyone would access it from your property.
If it's just access from a neighbour's garden and you're on good terms, this is unlikely to be problematic, but can occasionally make things a little more complicated!
